Mount K2

Mount K2 (8,611m / 28,250ft), also known as Mount Godwin-Austen, is the second-highest mountain in the world, located in the Karakoram range on the border of Pakistan and China. Although the peak is situated in Pakistan, its proximity to the Nepal border makes it a popular destination for Nepalese climbers. With an elevation of 8,611 meters, it is known for its challenging and treacherous climb, earning the nickname “Savage Mountain.” The first person to climb Mount K2 was Italian climber, Ardito Desio, in 1954.

The mountain has a reputation for having unpredictable weather and treacherous climbing conditions, with steep rock faces, deep crevasses, and avalanches making it a difficult climb for even the most experienced mountaineers. Despite these challenges, Mount K2 continues to attract climbers from all over the world, seeking to conquer its lofty summit.
