Mount Lhotse is the fourth-highest mountain in the world located in the Himalayas on the border between Nepal and Tibet. Standing at a height of 8,516 meters, it is situated just south of Mount Everest and shares the same base camp, which is a popular destination for trekkers and climbers alike. The mountain was first successfully climbed by a Swiss expedition, Ernst Reiss and Fritz Luchsinger in 1956 and has since been attempted by numerous mountaineers.

Its rugged terrain and challenging ascent make it a coveted summit for experienced climbers. The area around Mount Lhotse is also home to the Khumbu Glacier, the largest glacier in Nepal.
